How much will you have to pay in closing costs? Closing costs, ranging from 1.5 to 4% of the selling price. These are the legal and administrative costs you will need to pay when your house closes. Some of the costs are standard, and some depend on the type of property you purchase. Examples of closing costs are: Down payment, Deposit, Home Inspection, Water/Septic/Fireplace, Tarion, Adjustments, Land Transfer Tax, Status Certificate, Legal fees, CMHC and other mortgage fees, Moving costs.
Land Transfer Tax
Buyers must pay Land Transfer tax on a purchase. Land Transfer Tax is assessed on a property when a deed is registered transferring ownership of the property from one party to another.
